Seller: dsevveinl (1,087) 100%, Location: Rheinfelden, Ships to: US & many other countries, Item: 123937312500 You are bidding on a large stirrup vessel of the Moche culture.A very special design element was the very fine painting around 600 to 800 AD. The shape of the pottery was different, but you try to draw very fine lines. The result today delights collectors and enthusiasts, when the ceramics are real and old, because even counterfeiters know about this art form. This pottery shows a divine bird that even has rice teeth and sharp claws. Brushes were certainly unknown to Moche, so these fine lines were painted with hair. On both sides of the ceramics large gods are seen birds, the body forming snakes lines signs of fertility. The bird has huge wings and a huge tail feather, the rulers of the Moche have worn these attributes. The bird eats a sickle shape, presumably the moon, to start the new day. The supernaturally large eyes of the bird deity see the duality of day and night, moon and sun, life and death. A ceramic that reflects a part of the truly mystical world of Moche, exciting and never really explainable! The condition is age-related, the surface has a side worked by the age, small flaking, chipping on the spout and on the foot, the ceramic smells of the age.At the same time, the Nazca painted their ceramics with the so-called horror birds, which mostly combined human parts. The Moche said the gods birds, bigger, stronger, with big beak, with big eyes, with big tail, with big wings, bring fertility and life! Whether you know or like pre-Columbian art, such beautifully painted ceramics are great for art lovers!Culture: Moche Mochica Age: 1300 years old, TL tested, original Document 1990 inclusive!Tall approx.: 11” in Important for collectors who do not know my offers: it gives antiques, where you don't know, it is genuine or new (looks old or is a fake...). Many looks old, but it is? The best way to find out is an independent laboratory substance test. For many collectors is one reason, why they don't make a test, the high price. (In Europe are the cost today ca. 280 Euro / 300USD per test!) Here you get an antique piece inclusive a test (Thermo-Luminescence Analysis Report). For me as seller is this best feeling, because I can give you a really accurately described piece and the guarantee, made in antique times, an antique artisan, from an old long ago bygone culture!Provenance: Collection Edwin Nölke 1986, Private collection 2019.Can anyone write a COA, a material laboratory test for determining the age is truly something special!
