WMF ART NOUVEAU SILVER PLATED FILIGREE BOX WITH CEDAR WOOD LINING Antique WMF Art Nouveau silver plated filigree box with cedar wood lining. WMF book page 122 model number 115k, stamped marks. Circa 1900. In fabulous condition with the obvious wear to the plate consistent with age. A rare and unusual German Jugendstil wooden box applied with silver plated scroll overlay by renowned maker WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) and dating from around 1905. The box stands raised on four corner feet and comprises a box with pierced scrolling silver plated elements set in panels between solid edges and lined with wooden panels. The hinged cover opening to reveal four screws attaching the wooden panel to the cover. A very stylish period piece which could benefit from being cleaned and polished with ‘WMF I/O EP’ and ‘as’ quality makers marks.
