This early Sidney No 7 cast iron griddle dates to around 1897-1903 and is in excellent restored condition. The cooking has a couple utensil scores, hints of etching from corrosion and a few tiny pits. These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a glass smooth surface. Two sheets of printer paper stops movement on a granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin.
Test for flatness of griddle. With the griddle resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the outer edge searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until griddle stops moving.
