YOKOGAWA DENKI SEISAKUSHO LTD.
Type MC3 No 293868
( various kanji & 1500V )
there is a small rectangular decal on the back with Kanji
this was salvaged from a Japanese mini submarine ‘ ko-hyoteki (type A) midget submarine ‘
The subs were surrendered and scuttled during the period of occupation in Japan by a USN hard hat / deep sea diver named Ernest Herrmann
he sent home a small box Japanese naval gages and other equipment as souvenirs ,
This was among them ,
Herman’s collection included photos of the submarines he decommissioned
(I sold those years ago , along with most of the other equipment )
I doubt that many of these gages exist any more - ( except deep down in Davy Jones locker ! )
DO NOT PASS IT UP !
only a hand full are known to exist !
far scarcer than any captured airplane instrument or surface ship equipment !
