We opened 1 Roll and it contained all 1940s and 50s in VG to BU. All very nicely preserved many rolls have 2 end toners. All show 1950s and 1940s dates. These are great rolls for searching for errors. On 2nd roll found 30s 40s 50s several BUs and 1 steel 1943 Coins are clean crisp and have been unsearched since rolled at the bank in the late 50s Others have found AG - BU 1931D 1932 D 1943 D S (many) 1944 - 46 war shell case cents Red red brown brown BU Cents from 1951-1958 1955 1955s IE errors Ok possible - (but being realistic)You might find 20’s teens Indian heads but don’t expect any You will for certain find 30’s 40s 50s BUT LOOK FOR ERRORS - DOUBLED DIES and Reprinted MINT MARKS - then check out what errors for wheats are selling - its a great investment for the future as good errors are very marketable today - but will continue in the future. SO HINTS ON ROLLS - in our novice experience of selling and hearing from hundreds of buyers that have been scammed online. 1. No bank ever ever is going to put a dime or other coin at the end of a roll - the tellers would have been fired. Especially if there were hundreds of those being released - it meant someone was scamming a major crime. 2. No bank ever rolled rolls in wrappers with red strips on the ends until the 1960s - 1970s, therefore no wheat should ever be in a roll other than a plain red or brown Kraft paper roll ever. 3. All banks had to have their name, denomination, how many and the location of the bank or branch on the coin wrapper. If it does not have the banks name and address (sometimes phone and zip) it is not a OBW but a preroll. 4. Banks only wrapped in either RED (sometimes an off red such as a pink red) and brown - never in purple, blue, black, orange, striped etc. 5. Banks received new Rolls in BU cents from the Federal Reserve starting in 1950 - prior to that is was always delivered in bags 5000 and up. 6. The Federal Reserve never put circulated coins back into wrappers for banks - only given to banks in bags of 5000 and up. 7. Banks rolled their own circulated cents in their own wrappers up until the 1980s when companies like Loomis started to offer the service. They also rolled many BU cent rolls - from bags the main office would receive to supply the branch offices. 8. FEDERAL RESERVE ROLLS - were a salmon color - red/pink with the printing done by Johnston Fare Box Co., Chicago, IL 48 and was never spelled any other way. The FED ROLLS always had every letter capitalized in their Branch Name and the main location such as. "DENVER BRANCH OF THE KANSAS CITY FEDERAL RESERVE BANK" and was never spelled any other way. 9. FEDERAL RESERVE ROLLS - were always rolled with 3 coins up, 3 coins down, 3 coins up, 3 coins down - starting and stopping showing the Lincoln Obverse side 10. Be realistic of what to expect. If it is a true unsearched roll from the 50s - the 1950s coins should be in very good condition....the 40s also in good condition - each decade due to wear the coins recess in the quality. But except good quality recent coins -but don't expect to find rare cents - as American's started coin saving in the 1930s and became obsessed in the 1940s and 50s looking for the rare ones. They are still out there and many have been found in our rolls. But have yet to hear of a 1909 S VDB being found as there were never many in circulation -the small amount made were quickly consumed by the locals. Some trickled back into the main flow - but those were found along with many of the other tough ones. Look at your coins in your pocket - most cents will be from the 1983 forward - the Feds have been pulling copper coins out of the market for years as the value of copper increased over the value of the cent. Take time to look for errors instead of looking just year and mints. Recent memorial errors have produced huge auction results that pass through our hands every day. Again always check if the seller accepts a return before purchasing - if not you should ask why - we offer 100% return on any product - wse want you to be happy with the purchase. Read the above list and take note of those items when purchasing. There are a lot of excellent ebay sellers, unfortunately we have heard many buyers have been burned over and over. We hope you have a better experience that you have had on ebay once you purchase one of our items. We guarantee it..... Condition: READ DESCRIPTION BELOW - purchased 1956-58 from WELLS FARGO.
