DESCRIPTION
Antique round celluloid box from Max J. EGGE, “the Leading Jeweler”.
Online research finds a Max J. Egge associated with Grand Island and Cortland Nebraska ca. 1900.
Made of thin tortoise celluloid with photographic lid of young woman in hat.
Lid and base are lined with metal. Base also lined with a thick paper.
Lid looks to have once have another lining, perhaps a mirror.
Along the rim of the lid it reads “Globe Adv. Novelty Co Salt Lake City Utah”
CONDITION
Very good condition. No cracks or splits. Some oxidation to metal lining.
Box is a bit lopsided, the side has come a bit loose from the base at one point.
There a few tiny dots of white paint on the lid, on her hat.
Top has some minor scuffs when seen in glaring light.

As long as the item is paid for in full within one week of the end of auction, we will be happy to store any item for up to three months, free of charge. So if you are considering driving to pick up your item in order to save the shipping costs, you can take up to three months to do so, as long as you pay within one week of the end of auction. We are available for pick ups Monday through Friday, 10am to 4pm.
