Here is a set of 15 quilt block pieces in the Rocky Road To Kansas p attern, # 2979 in the Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns by Barbara Brackman.  Design is categorized as a Nine X pattern with specific construction, so named by the Ladies Art Company, pattern #236. Pieces are machine pieced using vintage cotton fabrics from the 1930s to 1940s era possibly including some feedsack material.    These measure approximately 21" across from point to point.  They were strip pieced on paper foundations with a minimal amount of the paper remaining on some blocks.     These will require setting patches to complete the blocks, or an applique method could be used for completion. Blocks are all pictured, please use the zoom feature on the photos to get a better view.  The last photo shows the back of one star. Item is for only the pictured pieces no other finishing materials are included.
