We have spent over 40 years collecting items from garage sales and auctions, along with accepting vintage items and antiques handed down from our family and friends.  Now retired, it is time to share some of these treasures. For sale is a beautiful set of vintage Burmese Meditation Gongs, or Kyeezee spinning bells.  These three bronze gongs are hanging from a turned, wooden, crossbar with a strong chain for hanging.  The gongs are suspended by strips of 1/8" x 1/8" soft leather.  The crossbar has a 1 3/4" diameter and is 30 1/2" long.  The chain that holds the crossbar is 18" long.  The gongs are graduated, but we do not know if they are a "tuned" set.  The measurement of each gong is:  10" (25.40 cm); 11" (27.94 cm) and 12" (30.48 cm).  There are identical markings on the edge of all three gongs.  Each gong has a beautiful tone when struck and they ring on for a very long time.  Also, included is a Vic Firth SD12 Swizzle G drum stick with a hard spun felt ball on the end for striking.  If you have never experienced the sound of Kyeezee gongs, you can go to You Tube and type in Burma Bells to listen to a demonstration.  In an effort to find the age of the gongs we sent pictures and a description to an authoritative source.  It was his opinion that the markings along the edge would "probably" date the gongs as being 60 to 70 years old.
