This is one of the oldest zooms ever designed for commercial still photography for the 135 format (Full Frame 36x24mm). It was released in 1959, and was incredibly advanced for its time. The images it makes are still impressive today.
Crucial for any cinema zoom lens, this lens is parfocal. It is sharp on center, with subtle fall-off towards the corners. The lens has surprisingly low chromatic aberration for such an old lens, and has minimal focus breathing. The old single layer coatings deliver lower contrast images, and gorgeous, bold lens flares, and bokeh that has a unique texture to it.
Did research into what was needed to make this lens usable in a docu-run and gun scenario. This lens comes with everything you need to shoot on an EF or RF camera. It includes a DKL-EF mount, an EF-RF mount with instant macro adjustment wheel (so you can close focus on the fly) and a 95mm clamp on ND filter. More than $600 worth of mounts and filters included!
