BEAUTIFUL ~ this bolt of antique ,  European hand-woven linen was woven in the late 1800's and the wonderful  modern dye! The tone of this fabric is a gray tone, with a hint of purple/ blue ! ~ In different lights it has a slightly different hue, overall mostly gray, but a warm blue gray! ~*~ The last 4 inches of this bolt has a wonderful " signature" stripe that runs the width. It was the signature of the person who wove the bolt ~ ~*~ The weave is a FINE , dense weave~  Very durable ! ~ ~This bolt is a linen and cotton blend, it was hand woven for use as clothing fabric ~*~ This bolt is heavy weight and ideal for upholstery, table runners, scarves ( I have many a few just by cutting a length and draping it around my neck, GORGEOUS) This fabric can be machine washed and tumbled dry. The dye is a hot water dye! ~* This bolt is hand woven and hand dyed with wonderful natural variations, it's one of the very best! ~*~ ~ *~ (bolt 9H )

CONDITION: I've freshly laundered this lovely linen and it's ready to use ~this bolt has a few creases that runs the width ~

 ~*~The woman weavers of yesterday would spend their evenings weaving these amazing rolls of linen. It took the average woman 1 night to weave 60 centimeters ( 24 inches) of linen

 ~*~ These rolls are 100%  machine washable, warm..if there is visible dirt, just add a bit of Oxywash! They are so easy to wash, simply spin dry then remove when wet. Roll the linen tightly and let sit overnight. In the morning unroll and allow to dry naturally~ this presses the linen and there is usually no need to iron ( unless you prefer it perfect). They can be dried in a dryer also! If drying in the dryer, just be sure that the roll isn't getting tangled up on itself in the dryer! ~ I like to add Downy Ultra to my last rinse cycle for an added touch of softness~  Pure linen or hemp rolls tend to have no shrinkage, the rolls with cotton tend to have some shrinkage  . These rolls are tough and sturdy, built to last.....and last and last!! ~ The average age of these rolls is about 100 years old, they are wonderful textile treasures~*~ Hemp is built to last for many many generations making it a lovely textile for creating family heirlooms~*~

 All of my linen rolls are produced using natural fibers. Natural fibers have the irregularities and subtleties that are inherent ...adding to their rustic charm~*~
