The poster is one of the most lively and, at the same time, the most complex areas in graphic design, in art. The Soviet poster is a truly unique phenomenon, and in different years the authors of famous posters were outstanding Soviet artists, leading people of their time.

The best artists of their time worked on propaganda posters, famous poets wrote slogans - thus, unique graphic schools were formed. Nowhere in the world did they teach the poster purposefully and systematically, as it was in the USSR.

Rare Soviet posters today have to be searched for in different countries of the world. It's a paradox, but what was created in only a few copies and is known only to collectors is sometimes easier to find than what was produced in thousands of copies. Of the millions of campaign posters that have adorned the streets, classrooms, classrooms and hospital corridors for many decades, only a few have survived.

Kudryashova Claudia Andreevna 1927

Soviet and Ukrainian graphic artist, illustrator; best known as a poster artist. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

Claudia Kudryashova was born in 1927. She studied at the Lviv Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts. After the fourth year, she transferred to the Kiev Art Institute at the graphic department, where she studied in the workshop of Professor V. I. Kasyan. In 1953 she graduated from the Kiev State Art Institute. Lived and worked in Kyiv. After graduating from the institute, she worked mainly in the field of political and socio-social posters, performed advertising posters for the Soyuzpechat association (“Young men and women do not forget to subscribe to newspapers and magazines for 1960”, 1959; “Subscribe to newspapers and magazines for 1960 year", 1959). For her creative activity, she independently created about 200 posters. Participated in regional, republican, all-Union and international exhibitions. She became the winner of the second prize of the Republican competition for the best political poster for the 60th anniversary of the Great October Revolution (1977), the prize named after V. I. Kasiyan (1979). She was repeatedly awarded prizes and diplomas of various poster competitions.

The most famous posters: “Young boys and girls! Pass the norms of the TRP complex! (1954), "The story of Vlas, lazy and lazy" (1955), "Glory to the victorious people!" (1955), “Into the bright distance - into communism the party boldly leads us” (1960), “Glory to the fruitful land!” (1962), "All to the Elections!" (1966), "October - the dawn of communism" (1967), "The first of September! It's time to go to school, kids!" (1971), “To think and create together! The radical rapprochement of science and production has become the imperative of the times!” (1970), “For Peace” (1977), “Long live the indestructible friendship of the peoples of the USSR!”, “Glory to the foremost workers of communism!”, “The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics is a country of workers and peasants”, “Long live the united, mighty created by the will of the peoples!” Soviet Union". She made more than 200 different posters together with her husband Evgeny Leonidovich Kudryashov. One of the first joint posters was "Let's Expand the Social Competition for Harvesting Wider" (1953). The artists Kudryashovs are the authors of such posters as “Everything for a subbotnik”, “Marx-Engels-Lenin-Stalin”, “The constitution gives us peace, happiness, freedom!”, “Our friendship is eternal and unshakable”, “The Warsaw Pact is a pledge peace and security in Europe”, “We are not raising sons for war”, “No!”, “Glory to the great sea of wheat!”, “These days the glory will not cease”, etc. Claudia Kudryashova’s talent was perfectly manifested in the design of greeting cards and in book illustration (Chuk and Gek, 1984). Completed a series of illustrations for the textbook "Children about Art" (1989).

Posters by K. A. Kudryashova are kept in the museums of Ukraine, the State Historical Museum (SIM), the Russian State Library (RSL), the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia (SCMSIR), the State Museum of Political History of Russia (GMPIR), the State Museum of V.V. Mayakovsky, the Museum of Defense of Sevastopol, private  Ukrainian, USA,England ,Germany, Greece, Italy, Cyprus and Poland.
