Flume Gorge is an unmissable stop when visiting New Hampshire, featuring historic covered bridges, cascading waterfalls and a picturesque 800 ft long gorge called the Flume. This interesting round souvenir box would have been sold at a shop nearby the gorge.  The box is 4.25" wide x 2.75" high and has a 2.5" round brown velvet lined compartment inside.  The lid has a colorful decal with "The Flume" painted in yellow letters under a decal of a Native American Indian Chief in full regalia.  The original bark on the outside of the box is in excellent condition and the hinge, that is placed in a carved niche on the back of the lid, is in great working condition.  Inside the box, along the rim, an ink inscription reads "June 20, 1918". There are no cracks or chips in the wood and the lid is only slightly dull from age.  A very unusual weird wood souvenir collectible.
