This room plan is from an estate and sold as it. It is for the celebrated steamship, the S.S. Lurine, published by the Matson Navigation Company, c. 1954. publisher, San Francisco, California. Printed in the U.S.A., this blue and white fold up room plan features the deck plans and ship dimensions for what was arguably the most famous Pacific Steamship of that era. In the 1950s, a cruise to Hawaii meant sailing round-trip from California to Honolulu (alternating between San Francisco and Los Angeles) on Matson Line’s S.S. Lurline. The first class ship made the crossing in 4 and 1/2 days. Most passengers spent 9 days in Hawaii before returning to the California major cities. It was an American flag ship with an all American crew.
NOTE: This item has had a few room prices hand printed on it, ostensibly by people planning a voyage to Hawaii and trying to ascertain the cost. So, it is not in pristine “collectible” condition. However, the prices do provide their own glimpse into that time period. They are unobtrusively printed in blue fountain pen ink. (See pictures). This will be shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
