Seller: fergy1979 ✉️ (3,909) 100%, Location: New Bedford, Massachusetts, US, Ships to: US, Item: 285477276918 Rare Lufkin Rule Co. No. 2227 Beveled 6" Rule 16th, 32nds,64ths & 100ths. Rarely found, especially in this fine condition, Lufkin Model 2227 Tempered Steel 6" Long Rule Beveled on the 100ths and graduated 16ths, 32nds, & 64ths on the other edges. These were beveled to read very close to the edge with less "parallax". This is quite common for the small scales found on verneer calipers and other graduated rules prior to the use of dial readouts. (Which are less accurate.) It was fondly acid or electro-etched by it's owner with the stylized letter 'W". Comes in a very nice period leather sleeve to keep it protected. Not sure of the date, but I am guessing they were making these in 20's or sooner and probably stopped before the 40's.
