CONDITION: Perfect, like new with no stains, wear or discoloring, original box SIZE: 36" X 36” or 98 X 98cm MATERIAL: 100% Shantung Cotton This is one of a huge lot of vintage Japanese furoshiki that we have acquired. Many came from well known department stores, etc. They were produced in Japan in the 1960’s or 1980’s. This was before such items were made in other Asian countries as they often are now … These are all vintage and some are unused, like new or have stains or other damage so examine the photos carefully before purchasing to determine the exact condition of this particular item and it’s value to you. MADE IN JAPAN Furoshiki are traditional, multi-purpose cloths that are used for carrying lunch boxes, clothing, etc. and there are numerous traditional ways to tying them and books are available to show you how. Furoshiki are sometimes made of silk but since silk is expensive and delicate, cotton or synthetics ‘jinken’ that mimic silk are much more popular as you don’t have to worry about their getting wet or stained. In the post-war period, Nylon, Rayon and blends are the most popular fabric for furoshiki and silk is only used on rare occasions… Shipping Note: Two types of shipping are offered for this item: 1) EMS Express (INCLUDES TRACKING & Insurance) and is fast and dependable. 2) Standard Air Registered (INCLUDES TRACKING) but has a less predictable delivery time. If you select Standard Air, note that in some cases it can take several weeks to arrive. All packages sent this way are photographed on the day they leave here. We are not responsible for any customs duties or import taxes your country may charge - please check on this with your post office. Returns are opened in the presence of Postal Authorities to assure the original item is enclosed. We prosecute fraud!
