Item:113947908234This wonderful deep red vintage fruit cake tin once held a 1 pound fruit cake, made by S.S. Pierce Co. in Boston, MA. The Epicure Fruit Cake was very popular in its day (this probably from 1930s, as it's been in my family all these years). The company was first established in 1831 and known for using the best ingredients in their cakes. At the top of the lid is a vivid image of their logo, the eagle with lion shield, supported by lions on either side. A little rust appears at the bottom outside (see photo), but this tin is still very functional and has been used for decades to store buttons. Lid is easily lifted off, but fits tightly once closed. Tin measures 6" x 3 1/4" x 2 1/4". A delightful addition to a tin collection or great gift for the holidays to the right collector!Condition:Used, Condition:Lid fits tin tightly but easily removed. Graphics on tin lid good condition, small rust to bottom edges of tin., Country/Region of Manufacture:United States, Date of Creation:1930s, Color:Red, Brand:Epicure Fruit Cake, Featured Refinements:Vintage Tin
