For your consideration is a gorgeous vintage cast iron electric fireplace, complete with an electric unit with new red light bulbs, a heavy mesh screen for holding period obsidian and amber with period red cellophane. The motif is of an English colonial three mast cargo sail boat.
The red and black glow is very warming, even without any heating element. The front lower hole was believed to hold a chain to turn on a heating element or turn on and off the light switch—both not included in this insert.
