Seller: herrstuka (16,412) 99.6%, Location: St. Leonards-on-Sea, Ships to: Americas, Europe, Asia, AU, Item: 391606919906 It is hard to date this solid brass door knocker accurately as it has no clue, apart from its made quality. This would indicate that it is craftsman/ hand-made as it has well-shaped pieces that have been forged together; the axle of the pin is vintage construction and I can only confidently say that this is over 50 years old. It comes from a collection of similar pieces, bought direct from the estate. This shows a Lucky Pixie who is sitting on a toadstool. He is dressed in a pointed hat and boots with pointed toes and has a mischievious look on his face. He is a good luck charm, most usually associated with Devon and Cornwall in England and other Celtic association. There are two fixing points/ screw holes to the back plate. Excellent piece for a front door, obviously good for a seaside/ coastal property or for a person with an interest in maritime-related ephemera Height: >5 inches/ 13 cmsWidth: 2.25 inches/ 6 cms Weight: 198 grams AJ This will be sent boxed and can be combined with other items (not fine china).
