Seller: willowsprings0 (416) 100%, Location: Basin, Wyoming, Ships to: US, Item: 113776383680 This is a wonderful Wyoming find. This foot stool came out of the old Emery Hotel in Thermopolis Wyoming. The hotel opened in 1913 and was demolished sometime in the 60's. The stool is in the Thomas Molesworth Style. Molesworth was a furniture designer in Cody Wyoming from the early 30's till his death in 1970's. His style has been reproduced by many furniture builders especially in our area of Wyoming. The stool measures approx. 21" long x 15 1/2" wide x 12" high. It is made of natural pine rounds cut in half and attached around a hard wood frame. The legs are round pine. The pine has a distinct worm feature. The trails and holes almost look like pictures. The padded portion of the stool actually has springs not just padding. The green covering is, I believe vinyl. It is had to tell without doing damage, it is very tightly attached. It does show wear on the corners and a couple of chips on the wood. In very good condition for it's age and public use. The stool was found at an estate sale in Thermopolis Wyoming. I found a post card from the 1950's of the lobby. If you enlarge the photo you can see a green chair of the same style. This is a wonderful example of Western, Arts and Crafts and Cowboy furniture. It has a history and look at a fraction of the Molesworth price. Goes well in many types of home decor.
