I am pleased to offer this Vintage Alt-Grenzau SMS Scharnhorst German Naval Reserve Stein! This beautiful stein was cast from and original mold of the stein, and was produced in post-WWII Western Germany. The stein honors the sailors of the SMS Scharnhorst in 1910, and has the names of the sailors and ensigns flanking a large raised patriotic emblem reading "For Glory and Country" in Latin. The stein has an epic pewter lid that has a sailor standing on top, and the German Empire Eagle on the handle. The underside of the stein is marked Alt-Grenzau 1894, partial Original Thewalt, and Western Germany.
This vintage stein is in very good condition, showing some light dust and minor scratching from age. The interior is clean. There is visible crazing across the piece, a small bend to the anchor on the lid, and there are some cracks near the handle (see photos).
Stein measures approx. 11-5/8" Tall w/ Lid x 4-1/8" Diameter
