Vintage 1973 J. Ward Rocky and Bullwinkle Castanets #2232 with Card Hong Kong

 

 

Larami Corp., Made in Hong Kong. Circa 1970.  Marked “© P.A.T. Ward MCMLXXIII” (1973).. Plastic. Approx. 2-1/4” across.

From the  Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.  This is a set of working plastic castanets. These were originally held down by a piece of cellophane tape (so they wouldn’t push the blister card open). Well, the tape dried out with age (remnants still on castanets) and pushed the plastic blister off anyway (which is now missing). The castanets work well and have raised musical notes and a “groovey” flower transfer on one side. The 3-1/2” X 6-1/2” card includes images of both Rocket J. Squirrel and Bullwinkle Moose. Minor chipon upper top corner of the card. Back of card is blank.
