Up for auction is this wonderful 1960's "TAKE HIRES ROOT BEER" advertising thermometer and extremely rare original box.  In excellent working condition, the piece is new/old stock!  It is highlighted by the image of a mug of Hires Root Beer on the front and says "TAKE HIRES ROOT BEER".  The thermometer increments go from 0-120 degrees.  The back is metal.  The front piece is glass with metal outer rim.  The piece measures about 12 inches in diameter.  Made by the Ohio Thermometer Company, the piece was distributed by the Canada Dry Bottling Company in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  All this is marked on the original fitted box, a rare find indeed!  The piece is in excellent, new/old stock working condition.  Just like it was new!!!  A great piece in nice shape offered with NO RESERVE!! A wonderful addition to any Hires Root Beer, general advertising, general soda collectible or thermometer collection!! Shipping cost based on a 14X14X14 inch box at 4-5 pounds, determined by eBay using these dimensions and the buyers location.
