Victorinox Small Tinker NoKR Swiss Army Knife pre1980 84mm

The Small Tinker model is a mid-sized Swiss Army Knife (3.25"/84 mm) with large and small knife blades, a can opener with small screwdriver, a bottle opener with large screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, awl, toothpick, tweezers, and keyring.

This Small Tinker is a B , made without the usual keyring. The Phillips is the original hal square half roud style and has the “meat can” slot in the tip. The round Phillips was introduced in 1980 so we know this knife was made before then. The Phillips has the “meat can” slot common in those days.

I am primarily a collector, but searching for new and unusual models often brings me duplicates and perfectly useful knives that I cannot keep. I share these on eBay. I classify knives by condition according to the scale below.

Grading Scale:

A+ new in box, with paperwork. Box may be worn, but the knife has never been carried, sharpened, or used. Collector or museum quality.

A new or like new, but no box or paperwork. Collector or museum quality.

B+ Excellent condition, no obvious wear, clean, tight, complete. Good for a collector, but probably not a museum.

B Excellent condition with some wear on the scales (handles). Clean, tight, complete, but the Swiss cross may be barely visible. A great carrier but not pretty enough for a collector’s display.

B- Some wear but still an excellent carrier. Clean, tight, complete.

C+ A good carrier. Clean and complete with excellent utility value.

C A good used pocketknife but nothing more. Everything is there and it all works, but if you dropped it in the creek you might not jump in to retrieve it.

D Sold as is. Might be useful for parts or dissection.

F You’ll never see this because they end up in my trash can.
