Item description:
Here is an oval shaped, footed sterling silver jelly / jam / mustard pot with cobalt blue glass insert. The sterling insert holder is in great shape with no dents, dings, or major scratches. The footings are level and stands stable. The cobalt blue glass insert is also in great shape with no chips, cracks, or haziness. The sterling holder needs a good polishing. Here’s some details:
* Sterling Holder: about 2-3/4” at its widest (one side of oval to opposite rim), about 2” tall (closed), about 3-1/2” (opened), weighs 50 grams
* Glass Insert: about 2-1/4” at its widest, opening of glass is about 2-1/8” x 1-3/8”, stands about 7/8” tall, weighs 1.3 ounces

History About Item:
Based on the British hallmarks, this sterling mustard pot was made in Birmingham by William Aitken in 1919. This is a great example of streamline design in the Art Deco period.
I found this sterling and cobalt blue mustard pot during one of my treasure hunting trips across the US.
