RESTORED AND GUARANTEEDAs everyone is aware, there has never been any official release of this travesty known as the Star Wars Holiday Special so there are dozens of versions/bootlegs ranging in quality. Most have either been transferred from old VHS recordings of it when it aired and some have been lucky (or unlucky I guess) to have access to a TV station 3/4" tape print which would be 1st generation quality and much better than any VHS dub. When this DVD was being compiled, I would guess no less than 6 versions were cut together to make this near perfect version. Why so many different sources used? Well the reasons are many but most of it was due to audio issues or TV station logos flashing on the screen or even delayed resuming from a commercial break etc. In the end we feel we got a pretty flawless master but that was just not good enough. The editing was flawless and I welcome anyone that can tell where it was but regardless it needed to be cleaned up because there were some dirt, scratches and tape noise that needed to be removed. We ran it through a program that's used to clean up old movies with film damage. We did this in 10 minute intervals that took about 12 hours per 10 min to process. Twice. But let's not stop there...then...we did color correction to make everything even and more vibrant. It was then processed to 1920X720 resolution (DVD quality) so that is would look as good as possible on a larger screen. You can only blow something up so big depending on your source material but I feel it worked out nicely. Audio tweeks were also done, mainly on the Jefferson Starship song (making it Stereo) which required re-editing the HQ audio the same way it was aired so that lips matched. The TV version had been edited differently than the album master. Finally a new introduction was then added to the beginning for comedic purposes. Which features the classic opening crawl and a warning by your host. Please note: The introduction does not cut into the special itself. It does it's thing then we fade to black and begin the show with the original opening CBS spot that says "Wonder Woman and the Incredible Hulk will not be seen tonight so that we may bring you this piece of crap." or something like that. You can even watch it without the introduction but I highly recommend not doing that. You'll miss out on some inside jokes that only Star Wars fans can appreciate. At the end of the day I feel that we have one of the best, if not the best version available. I have yet to find anything even close. But wait...there's more... we also include a Bonus disc with over 2 hours of extras including the infamous parody "Hardware Wars","The Star Wars Hypothetical Holiday Special", " An exclusive cast retrospective, short film "George Lucas in Love" and a lot more. And I mean a lot. I have been told the extras are more enjoyable than the actual special and I can't say I disagree. If you have never seen it and are expecting it to be bad...it's even worse than that. But if you are going to watch this train wreck at least it will look better than it ever did. Kind of like polishing a turd though. I have had nothing but positive feedback on it. Not on the show itself, let's face it... it's awful but for the presentation and all around quality of the video itself.Other sellers may have decent copies but we have the best. Now I am sure someone eventually will copy our version and sell it and not a whole lot I can do about it. It's a free market, public domain type thing but we have our discs professionally duplicated, full color artwork on the actual discs, no stickers or blanks. It even has glossy full color artwork inside and out in a high quality clear plastic case that hold both discs. It comes shrink wrapped and ready to give as a gift or add to your collection. If you ever have an issue with a disc we will replace it for free way beyond the 30 day guarantee.I hope that answers any questions you might have and I hope we can hook you up with a copy.On Apr-27-18 at 16:45:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Condition: Brand New, Director: Steve Binder, Country/Region of Manufacture: United States, Format: DVD, Release Year: 1978, Region Code: DVD: 0/All (Region Free/Worldwide), Rating: NR, Edition: Anniversary Edition, Special Features: Cult, Genre: TV Shows, DVD Edition Year: 2018, Leading Role: Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Sub-Genre: Holiday
