Item:323944385211The Little one. This beveled down plane is a bench plane! I find these little planes to be very handy and pretty much always carry one in my apron pocket. You can’t use them to flatten a board or square an edge, but you can cut a small bevel with them and clean up a small ding. They aren’t toys. This is one of a number of these planes that I have built out of parts, As is typical of these I stripped them using a chemical stripper and de-rusted them using Metal Rescue. It was then re-painted using Rust-o-leum Rust Convertor Primer and their rust prevention topcoat in gloss black. I sanded the sides and left them bare because it makes them look more like Stanley bench planes. I also stripped and polished the lever cap and left it bare for the same reason. There is no reason they have to look bad. I like pretty tools! The bottom of the plane was flattened and polished using sandpaper on glass ending at 1 micron. The iron was sharpened using the Scary Sharp Method ending at 1 micron.
