This is a unique, custom, and one-of-a-kind find. This is a Lot of (49) Renaissance Elizabethan figured flatware made of Britannia Pewter and finished gleaming steel from Sheffield of England. Absolutely amazing design and craftsmanship from the 1970's by Margaret Pater Bennett. She had mastered the craft of hand finished and design of elegant flatware and distinctive jewelry. Her flatware features hand-finished figurine handles of superior pewter alloy, blades of brilliant Sheffield; the handles are cast in place, obviating the need for adhesives or solder and precluding separation from the blade. This type of mastery is rarely practice today and the artistry in her design is a reminder of the thought, care, and hard work that was put into a craft. You will not find another collection as beautiful or smart like this. A valuable collection for anyone. Overall in Good Condition. Because each piece being handcast as well as finished by hand will vary slightly from one to another; a hallmark of quality. Please see photos as part of description and condition.
