Seller: goodthingsgoodprice (1,860) 100%, Location: Ballston Lake, New York, Ships to: US, Item: 133243038536 this listing is for a: Restored 1907 Singer Sphinx model 15-30 Treadle Sewing Machine serial # H 1216363 - thatSews Very Well. the slide plate has 8 patent dates on it. i repaired one of the tabs on the underside of the slide plate. it's very common for one of these tabs to be broken on these 15-30 machines. i've restored about 10 of them. i like them.the Sphinx decals are ~ 90% original. the other 10% i've touched-up. i think i did a good work here. this machine comes w/a new needle, a new red spool pin felt, 3 bobbins (the oldest/the antique bobbin i wound on the bobbin winder by hand usinga rubber band, it is in the bobbin case on the machine and i used it for my sew test) and the two original hinges and their set screws (they are in place on the machine). i repainted the underside black and coated it w/ polyurethane. the upperside, belt guard and hand wheel were coated w/poly several times.the feed dogs can be dropped for free-motion sewing. i removed all parts of all areas including: the sewinghead, bobbin winder, tension unit, all underside parts, the bobbin case & everything around it, and all parts except the uppershaft and the connecting shaft to the underside parts (these i cleaned, oiled & adjusted in place). i cleaned these parts, putthem back in place...oiled where needed and adjusted them to make the machine operate as well as possible. i think these model 15-30 machines are one of the strongest home/family machines that Singer ever made. the model 201machine is another strong machine because of it's steel teeth gears. the bobbin case area of these model 15 machine isdesigned a lot like some Singer commercial/industrial machines made from ~ 1900 to the 1950's. this machine would make an excellent treadle machine for sewing (this machine should fit into all the large Singer home/familytreadle units and cabinets - except the fiddle base machine cutout areas - from ~ 1892 to about 1960 or so. this machinewould also be a fine & well preserved example of this type of machine for those that like to collect them. the polyurethaneprotects & preserves. very few of these old machines have decals as well preserved as this one. this machine should weigh ~ 32 lbs when boxed & ready to ship. youtube probably has examples of how to use this machine if needed.plus, manuals and user's guide can be found online (some are downloadable) again.if needed. ------------------------------ If you like this machine, consider leaving me positive feedback. Thanks for looking. *** use the UPS Tracking Number i provide when i ship the item/s to track it...and to be aware of whenit's on your local truck to be delivered to you. the more times UPS has to cycle the package/sthrough their system...the more likely the item/s inside may be damaged. i worked at the UPS center in Latham ,NY for more than 11 yrs inside moving & sorting packages in essence. i know what i'm talking about. if youhave a problem being at the delivery location, call your local UPS shipping center and make other arrangementswith them to receive or pick-up the package/s. *** *** If your item is damaged en-route to you: contact the shipper i used (normally it's UPS...give them the tracking # for the package) and save the box and all the packing materials...in case they need to look at them to assess who's liable for the damage. contact me here and send photos so i can calculate the $ value refund required and help with any other issues. i pack the items i ship very well & i insure all the items i ship for the ending/final value/listing selling price. if you want to pick the machine up yourself, let me know so we can work this out. *** *** I DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS AT THIS TIME. i cannot afford to do so. anyone who decides/commits to bidding on or buying one of my sewing machines should be certain that they want the machine & are willing to keep the machine (as it is). damage en route & usage issues are things i'll deal w/ if they occur. *** *** Even though i do my best to describe my machines well & post good pictures, keep in mind that i'm not perfect & neither are the machines that i've restored. All the work that i do on these sewing machines is done by me by hand. the most difficult area for me to master has been the restoration painting (repainting black areas & details/decals) & the clear-coating (for protection) that i do on these machines. i use foam brushes for the black areas & clear-coatings generally. small fine haired brushes & such are used for fine detail work and so on. even so, and being as careful as i can be regarding re-doing the surfaces of these machines (to varying degrees)...there will still be flaws on them. sometimes there may be a drip/s i didn't see, or some small bumps (some very small air bubbles perhaps)...and it can be that the paint i used to re-do some details is thick/or thicker than the surrounding painted areas and/or the touch-up paint i used is not a perfect color match. - Ken Pollock - *** ------------------------------ *** i will insure this machine when i ship it via UPS. i will provide tracking information when i'm ready to ship the machine. this machine will be very well packed:: triple wall boxed at least (that means a double walled box & a single walled box fitted tightly together)/strong tape and all. i will use Instapak form-able foam protective shipping packs when i box-up this machine. i ship to the continental U.S./the lower 48 States only. *** *** I was a Husqvarna Viking certified & trained sewing machine, serger & quilting machine repairman/technician for about 4 yrs. then my mother sold her Albany, NY Viking dealership in April 2011. i repaired and serviced about 1,000 machines during that time. now i just repair & restore machines i purchase for this purpose only. i fix-up only those machine that i want to work on or that i like. my focus is on old Singer model 15 machines, Singer 15-91, 201-2 potted gear machines, 66's, fiddle base machines & usually the older - oldest hand crank machines...or any good/interesting sewing machine restoration project that i want towork on....and i've been doing work like this listing since the Fall of 2013. *** Maker: Singer, Original/Reproduction: Antique Original, Featured Refinements: Singer Treadle Sewing Machine
