The house was designed by architect Nathan Vaughn and finished in 1823 for Major John Brown II, who named the house “Annoatuck,” an Indian word meaning “a windy hill.” This turned newel features a slender silhouette with clean lines and a ball newel cap. The newel is in good antique condition with the expected wear (as pictured.) It measures approx. 3-1/2” wide and 62-7/8” tall. There is a coordinating newel available under #NNP164-RW.
