I bought copies of many of these books when they were first published and stored them away where they have been virtually undisturbed for decades, so where it shows "UNOPENED" below, know that it means they are in like-new condition. Annuals, Giant-Sized issues, Specials, Official Index and limited series are listed at the end, so scroll way down to get to them.

(Another option to get a reading copy of this one is to see "235r236" below) 34 VG 2.75 03/66 - Giant-Size REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #27 - July, 1970) - Spider-Man faces Kraven the Hunter in this 1966 issue by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, a tale called "The Thrill of the Hunt." -- much more affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 34 Also contains reprinted material from Strange Tales #115 (Human Torch and Thing vs Sub-Mariner) Also contains reprinted material from Journey Into Mystery #116, Jack Kirby, (Thor, Loki, "Trial of the Gods") This thick square-bound book is obviously a reader copy that has been enjoyed before, with multiple wrinkles which are easily seen in the photos.  I paged through it, and all the pages seem to be in good shape, but this is clearly not for investment. 49 VG/FN   Amazing Spider-Man 49 VG/FN 5.0 1967 / vs Kraven the Hunter & Vulture 53 FN+ 3.25 10/67 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #38 - Oct, 1972) - by Stan Lee/Tony Mortellaro/John Romita, vs Doctor Octopus - "Enter:  Dr. Octopus" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of the original ASM 53. Definitely been handled before, and while it has good shine and pages, someone put something heavy down on it on the back side, right where the guy's tie is, leaving an impression, so this one is clearly a reader but remains structurally sound. 59 VG- 3.25 04/68 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #42 - Apr, 1973) - by Stan Lee/John Romita/Don Heck -- first time Mary Jane ever appears on the cover (and what an appearance it is!), not to mention the menace of the Brainwasher -- "The Brand of the Brainwasher!" -- much more affordable way to pick up reading copy of the very pricey original ASM 59. A worn copy with spine roll, wrinkles, creases, folds, but still have some shine.  Centerfold page is loose but present, and all pages otherwise in good shape still. 60 VG- 3.25 05/68 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #43 - June, 1973) - by Stan Lee/John Romita/Don Heck John Romita, 2nd Kingpin cover/4th app overall - "O, Bitter Victory!" -- much more affordable way to pick up reading copy of the original ASM 60. A rock-solid upper-mid-grade copy that certainly seen a reading or two but remains in good shape overall. 83 VG 1.95 04/70 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #64 - Jan, 1976) - by Stan Lee/John Romita/John Romita, vs Kingpin, 1st app Schemer (Richard Fisk); 1st full app Vanessa Fisk - "The Schemer!" -- much more affordable way to pick up reading copy of the original ASM 83. A well-read and obviously worn copy with wrinkling, some light creasing and small edge tears, but pages all seem fine. 86 FN 4.95 07/70 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #67 - May, 1976) - by Stan Lee/John Romita, Origin of Black Widow (Natasha Romanov) retold , dons a new costume - "Beware...the Black Widow!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of the very pricey ASM 86. Solid mid-grade copy with light wrinkling, some moderate wear, surface build-up, good pages that are easily off-white -- and WAY cheaper than buying the original issue -- plus you can read it with impunity! 87 FN 2.50 08/70 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #68 - June, 1976) - by Stan Lee/John Romita, Prowler app, Peter Parker reveals his identity as Spider-Man to Gwen Stacy - "Unmasked at Last!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 87. A solid upper-mid-grade copy that's probably been lightly read before but still with great-looking pages. 91 VF-   Amazing Spider-Man 91 / 1970 VF- 7.5 / Stan Lee, 1st app Sam Bullit 91 VG/FN 2.25 12/70 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #72 - Oct, 1976) - by Stan Lee/Gil Kane, John Romita, 1st app Sam Bullit - "To Smash the Spider!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 91. Overall, the book is in solid, better-than-mid-grade shape, but the rough wrinkles on the upper-right of the front cover (visible in photo) caused me to lower it -- all pages look fine however and even still near-white. 92 FN 2.25 01/71 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #73 - Nov, 1976) - by Stan Lee/Gil Kane/John Romita, Iceman app, Sam Bullit app - "When Iceman Attacks" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 92. A pretty average copy with some moderate handling wear, light wrinkling but with good pages. 95 VG 1.95 04/71 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #76 - Feb, 1977) - by Stan Lee/John Romita/Sal Buscema - "Trap for a Terrorist!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 95. An obviously well-read copy that's seen some action with some wrinkling, folds, surface build-up.  Pages all in readable shape however, so a whole copy. 97 VG- 1.95 06/71 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #78 - Apr, 1977) - by Stan Lee/Gil Kane, Drug topics not approved by CCA - "In the Grip of the Goblin!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of the now very pricey ASM 97. An obviously worn copy with a very rough and obvious crease in the middle of the spine that looks like a tear but isn't.  Book's pages seem sound enough, and it appears to be whole. 99 VG/FN 1.95 08/71 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #80 - June, 1977) - by Stan Lee/Gil Kane - "A Day In The Life Of" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 99. A worn copy but still with some shine that's obviously been read before with some wrinkling, but pages all seem to be good and completely readable. 103_4 NM- 1.95 12/71 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #82 - Aug, 1977) - by Roy Thomas/Gil Kane, Gog app, Ka-Zar app; Kraven the Hunter app - "Beware the Power of...Gog!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of the two ASM issues, each partially reprinted here. An almost new-looking copy that has only been lightly handled before. 104 FN 1.95 01/72 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #83 - Sept, 1977) - by Roy Thomas/Gil Kane, 2nd app Gog, Ka-Zar app; vs Kraven the Hunter - "The Beauty and the Brute" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 104.  Also includes reprint of the "Goodbye to Linda Brown story by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko from Strange Tales #97, which features a pre-Spider-Man appearance of Aunt May and Uncle Ben! A solid, mid-grade copy with light wrinkles and some faint creases with good pages.  Completely readable copy. 105 VF 1.95 02/72 - WHITMAN VARIANT - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #84 - Oct, 1977) - by Stan Lee/Gil Kane, vs Spencer Smythe, 1st app of the Spider-Slayer Mark III robot - "The Spider Slayer!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 105. Looks mostly new and has only the minimal wear from a light reading. 106 VG/FN 1.95 03/72 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #85 - Nov, 1977) - by Stan Lee/John Romita, vs Spencer Smythe - "Squash Goes the Spider!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 106. Book has clearly been read multiple times before with moderate overall wear with plenty of surface build-up.  Still complete and in decent shape and completely readable, but definitely not making it to mid-grade. 107 VF- 1.95 04/72 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #86 - Dec, 1977) - by Stan Lee/John Romita, vs Spencer Smythe; vs Spider Slayer - "Spidey Smashes Thru!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 107. Book in excellent shape with only minimal wear from an apparent light reading and a touch of surface build-up. 108 VG 12.50 05/72 - by Stan Lee/John Romita, 1st app Sha Shan (Sister Sun) and Giant One - "Vengeance from Vietnam!" -- also includes letter from future Spider-Man writer David Michelinie. Admittedly a lower-grade copy, but about as smooth of one as you could ever hope to find with virtually no cover wrinkles.  Has the general overall wear, as you can plainly see in the photos, and I'd probably put it closer to VG+ were it not for the tear on the left-back edge (seen in photos).  But a decent copy nonetheless with good-looking pages that all seem in better shape than you normally see on a straight reader.  Nothing to write home about, but if a lower-grade copy will do, then you should be happy with this one. 108 VF 1.95 05/72 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #87 - Jan, 1978) - by Stan Lee/John Romita, 1st app Sha Shan (Sister Sun) and Giant One - "Vengeance from Vietnam!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 108. Book in excellent shape with only minimal wear from an apparent light reading. 110 FN+ 24.95 07/72 - by Stan Lee/John Romita, 1st app/origin of the Gibbon - "The Birth of the Gibbon!" Might actually qualify for FN/VF, but I'm playing it safe.  Flat and mostly smooth, but probably not as shiny as it was at first, it shows light wear around edges, including traces of corner folds, and if you hold the book up to the light, you can see a faint vertical line right behind the Gibbon's ears -- barely visible in photos. The standard upper-mid-grade spine ticks from a reading or likely two.  Back cover shows a bit of spine wear also and some foxing spots.  Pages all in great shape.  Better than your average copy, but not by too much. 110 FN 1.95 07/72 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #89 - Mar, 1978) - by Stan Lee/John Romita, 1st app/origin of the Gibbon - "The Birth of the Gibbon!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 110 (Stan Lee's final issue on the title). A middle-of-the-road copy that has been read before but still in solid shape. 111 VG+ 18.00 08/72 - by John Romita/Gerry Conway, vs The Gibbon, Kraven the Hunter app - "To Stalk a Spider!" Book is flat, still shiny, and astonishingly smooth for a lower-grade copy, and it would totally get to around FN- where it not for a couple of rougher spots.  See the small torn spot on the lower-left front edge, which is plain enough in the photos.  And about 3/4 inch of the upper-left corner of the back is gone, also visible.  Other than that, it's just moderate wear, some bit of foxing on back, spine ticks galore, and not too much other edge wear.  Pages in great shape and about cream-colored. For a lower-grade copy, you could do much worse. 114 VG 1.95 11/72 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #93 - July, 1978) - by Gerry Conway/John Romita/Jim Starlin/Joe Sinnott, 1st app Doctor Jonas Harrow , 2nd app/origin of Hammerhead - "Gang War, Schmang War! What I Want to know is ...Who the Heck is Hammerhead?" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 114. Clearly been read multiple times with general wear and a good amount of surface build-up.  But still a complete copy that contains the full story from this KEY ISSUE. 117 VF/NM 1.75 02/73 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #96 - Oct, 1978) - by Gerry Conway/John Romita, Stan Lee/Herb Trimpe, John Romita, vs Disruptor - "The Deadly Designs of the Disruptor!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 117. Looks like it might have been gently read once. 118 VF/NM 1.75 03/73 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #97 - Nov, 1978) -- scarce WHITMAN VARIANT (empty UPC box) - by Gerry Conway/Stan Lee/John Romita, vs Disruptor; vs Smasher - "Countdown to Chaos!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 118. Bright and shiny, with only a couple of little spine dimples preventing NM. 124 NM- -- 09/73 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #101 - Mar, 1979) - by Gerry Conway/Gil Kane, 1st app Man-Wolf - "The Mark of the Man-Wolf" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 124. Only the slightest wear along spine blocks full NM -- we're talking very minor here. 126 VG/FN 13.50 11/73 - by Gerry Conway/Ross Andru, Death of Kangaroo - "The Kangaroo Bounces Back!" Book is flat, still fairly smooth, and doesn't have much in the way of folds or creases, but the edge and spine wear, together with the soiling on the upper-back, drop this one below mid-grade for sure.  Pages are nice, off-white, and they all looked fine, so it's also for sure better than VG, putting it right in between.  Plenty of photos, so check it out. 129 VF 6.95 02/74 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Milestone Edition - 1992) - by Gerry Conway/Ross Andru, first appearance of both the Punisher and the Jackal (laying the groundwork leading up to the original Spider-Man clone storyline) - "The Punisher Strikes Twice!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of the incredibly pricey ASM 129. With prices for the original issue now far out of reach of most collectors (including myself), some have done what I did, which is virtually fill in those incredibly expensive gaps in their collections with reprint copies.  This was a later reprint from 1992. As for the book itself, it looks mostly new and really isn't NM anymore largely because of some light wear right along the spine (visible in photos), probably a result of a very light reading, because the rest of the book looks fantastic with brilliantly white pages. Funny, this one has the original ads, and even the letters page has been reproduced, so it's pretty much an exact replica of the original. If you're looking for a more affordable option for this KEY ISSUE and just can't justify the expense of springing for the original, then perhaps this one will work for you. 136 VG/FN 5.0 to FN-   Amazing Spider-Man 136 FN- 5.5 1974 MVS, 1st app of Harry Osborn as Green Goblin 140 FN/VF 17.50 01/75 - by Gerry Conway/Gil Kane/Ross Andru, MVS intact , 1st app Gloria Grant ; Origin of Grizzly; vs Jackal - "And One Will Fall!" Easily an upper-mid-grade copy that is flat and very smooth with only light edge wear, and that light background color is still bright.  Has got good corners, spine shows only light wear with a few ticks, staples in good shape, showing some slight discoloration -- they go through to the centerfold. Back has some light surface wear, and you can see that classic Bronze Age yellowish printer's ink splotch that was so common in those days (also visible on the top edge of the pages). Pages off-white and look good.  Some light corner tip folds, though see the edge-on view from the bottom, and you'll see that it's mostly good.  A very solid upper-mid-grade copy, but no way is it VF. 142 FN+ 22.95 03/75 - by Gerry Conway/John Romita, Ross Andru, vs Mysterio (Daniel Berkhart), first app of Gwen Stacy Clone - "Dead Man's Bluff" A solidly mid- to slightly-upper-mid-grade copy that is flat, very smooth and with some good shine to it.  Edge wear is minor to moderate, and the spine shows a reading or two with some ticks and small color breaks.  A smudge is visible just above the "I" in "Amazing" on cover, which was the only one I found even after holding the book up to the light.  Back cover is solid with only a touch of surface build-up.  Pages are off-white, and they all looked good and attached.  A very nice just-above middle-of-the-road copy. 143 FN 14.75 04/75 - by Gerry Conway/Ross Andru, 1st app Cyclone (Andre Gerard) - "And the Wind Cries:  Cyclone!" Flat, very shiny and still remarkably smooth, it's still seen a bit of action and has likely been read two or three times, with the spine wear you'd expect to result from that.  Back has larger fold remnant in upper-left quadrant and some surface build-up, also more so in that upper-left area, as shown in the photos.  No tears though.  Staples look good, as do the pages, which come in off-white.  An unspectacular copy that's got obvious spine wear, but the rest of the book is stout and sturdy, so this comes in overall as right about average mid-grade. 148 VF- 2.95 09/75 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #125 - Mar, 1981) - by Gerry Conway/Ross Andru, Part of the original Spider-Clone story line , Jackal app/identity revealed, Tarantula app, Gwen Stacy's clone revealed to be a clone - "Jackal, Jackal Who's Got the Jackal?" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 148.  Also contains Triton/Inhumans story by Stan Lee/Jack Kirby from Thor #149. Looks like it's been read a couple of times.  Some wear but still in good overall shape. 149 NM 3.50 10/75 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #126 - April, 1981) - by Gerry Conway/Ross Andru, 1st app Ben Reilly (Spider-Man clone) ; Death of Jackal, Part of the original Spider-Clone story line - "Even if I Live, I Die!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 149. - Also contains Triton/Inhumans story by Stan Lee/Jack Kirby from Thor #150. UNOPENED and looks close to brand new. 150 FN- 14.95 11/75 - by Archie Goodwin/Gil Kane, Conclusion of the original Spider-Clone storyline - "Spider-Man or Spider-Clone?" Nice shiny copy that's flat and very smooth and actually looks better than FN at first glance, but there are a couple of specks of something on the cover (in title area and just to the right of Sandman's head) that mar the cover.  Also, back cover, while still very smooth, has remant of a moisture spot in left area of the coupon (visible in photos -- does not seem to have affected any inner pages).  Again, still very smooth .  Pages are off-white, and they all look.  A nice looking copy, but I sure can't claim mid-grade anymore. 150 NM- 2.95 11/75 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #127 - May, 1981) - by Archie Goodwin/Gil Kane, Conclusion of the original Spider-Clone story line - "Spider-Man or Spider-Clone?" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 150. -- Also contains Triton/Inhumans story by Stan Lee/Jack Kirby from Thor #151. Looks close to brand new with only minimal storage wear. 155 FN/VF 11.25 04/76 - by Len Wein/Sal Buscema, vs Tallon - "Whodunit!" Very nice, flat and shiny copy with only minimal wear showing, particularly from the front where it looks far closer to VF.  Smooth as anything with only with virtually no spine ticks to speak of.  Pages are easily off-white, even leaning toward white in places and look good.  Back side has some light build-up, and it's the upper-left corner with a couple of fold remnants (barely visible in photo because they're so light) that keep this one below VF.  Easily an upper-mid-grade copy and still in very collectible shape.  Presents wonderfully in its bag and board. 161 FN/VF 7.0 - VF-   Amazing Spider-Man 161 FN/VF 7.0 1976 Punisher, 1st mtg Spider-Man, Nightcrawler 164 FN+ 9.95 01/77 - by Len Wein/Ross Andru, vs Kingpin - "Deadline!" Nice shiny copy that's flat and wonderfully smooth (check out that bottom edge view -- nice).  Moderate wear along edges, consistent I thought with FN/VF, but the spine showed a little more, so I didn't think it quite got there (though it's borderline).  No folds, creases, tears -- back has light surface build-up.  Pages off-white -- all good there.  It's absolutely better than straight-up mid-grade, and I'll just have to let you examine the 9 photos I took and decide where you fall on it.  A very solid and collectible copy no matter where you land. 168 VF/NM   Amazing Spider-Man 168 VF/NM 1977 / vs Will o' the Wisp - Murder on the Wind! 171 VF -- 08/77 - by Len Wein/Ross Andru, Nova appearance , Continued from Nova #12 - "Photon Is Another Name For...?" A very nice, flat, still shiny and mostly smooth copy that seems to have been lightly read once or twice, but has left very little in the way of wear to show for it.  Very faint and minor spine wear with almost no ticking, corners only slightly blunted, back cover free of just about any surface build-up and off-white pages that all looked good when I carefully paged through it.  No longer NM, but a high-quality copy nonetheless. 175 FN/VF 14.75 12/77 - by Len Wein/Ross Andru, Early Punisher app , vs Hitman - "Big Apple Battleground!" I marked this at-first-glance FN+ copy FN/VF because even though it's lost a bit of its shine, it's so flat and wonderfully smooth, you almost forget to notice the minor wear (and you can see that plainly enough).  This also has far fewer spine ticks than you see on most FN+ copies, the back is still in solid shape (yeah, there's a touch of build-up present still), and the pages are solidly off-white and in great shape.  It's as if someone didn't mind leaving this one on a table, but they held it very carefully while reading -- nice and smooth.  FN+ or FN/VF -- still in that range, and a good solid book no matter how you view it. 175 VF/NM 1.75 12/77 - REPRINT (actually Marvel Tales #217 - Nov, 1988 - by Len Wein/Ross Andru, Punisher app , vs Hitman - "Big Apple Battleground!" -- affordable way to pick up reading copy of ASM 175.  Also features the Spectacular Spider-Ham in a back-up "tail" by Fred Hembeck called "Doom Means Never Having To Say You're Sorry!" Book seems to have been lightly handled with just a little bit of handling wear.  Perhaps even lightly read.  Still in great condition. 184 VF- 6.95 09/78 - by Marv Wolfman/Ross Andru, 1st app White Dragon - "White Dragon! Red Death!" Better than mid-grade with a nice silky smooth and shiny surface, this one has only very minimal edge wear and only a handful of small spine ticks (easily visible in photos) and a couple of little dimples.  It shows that it's been lightly read before.  Back is near white and has that one surface mark in the middle of the top (sorry about the yellowish image -- the book is very close to white).  Only minimal wear on this side, and pages are off-white.  A very solid copy, but I thought it didn't quite make it to VF. 189 FN+ -- 02/79 - WHITMAN VARIANT - by Marv Wolfman/John Byrne , Man-Wolf app - "Mayhem by Moonlight!" Flat and shiny and almost completely smooth, it has a handful of small spine dimples (which you can just make out in the side photo) revealing that it's been handled before.  Pages still off-white to white, and back has only minimal surface build-up.  However the remnant of a little moisture spot can be clearly seen in lower-right edge of back, dropping this one down below the VF it might otherwise have been. 190 NM- -- 03/79 - by Marv Wolfman/John Byrne , Man-Wolf app , Spencer Smythe app - "In Search of the Man-Wolf!" High-grade copy that lies flat, is still very shiny and almost perfectly smooth with no fold or crease marks, sharp corners and off-white pages.  Spine has only a couple of very minor ticks, and I note only one faint dimple about an inch above the lower staple (right in the middle of the tug boat -- very small). Back has faint surface wear, making this a top-notch, but no longer pristine copy. 196 FN/VF 7.25 09/79 - by Marv Wolfman/Al Milgrom, Death of Aunt May (faked death); vs Mysterio, 1st app of Debra Whitman - "Requiem!" A nice copy that shows the tell-tales signs of a gentle reading or two.  Flat, shiny and still quite smooth, it has a few spine ticks and little dimples that are evident enough in the photos, some light surface wear on back.  Pages are off-white and look good.  No longer VF for sure, but definitely better than mid-grade.  A pretty solid copy, but won't win any awards. 204 VF- -- 05/80 - NEWSSTAND VARIANT - by Marv Wolfman/Keith Pollard, 3rd app Black Cat - "The Black Cat Always Lands on Her Feet!" Looks close to NM at first glance, with a flat, shiny and just about perfectly smooth surface, hardly any spine ticks, and off-white pages that still look great.  But get your magnifying glass out and note there's a couple of tiny abrasions, such as the little one just below the price, one on the back side spine about two-thirds of the way down, and the upper-right corner pages aren't perfect.  All visible in photos, but you might have easily missed them had I not pointed them out.  Don't get me wrong, it's still a nice copy, but I doubt it makes VF anymore. 205 VF -- 06/80 - NEWSSTAND VARIANT - David Michelinie/Keith Pollard, 4th app Black Cat - "In Love And War!" Flat, shiny and almost perfectly smooth with off-white pages, it has the look of an almost-new copy that seems to have been only lightly handled.  Only a couple of hair-thin spine ticks.  Bottom spine corner blunted with the very tip having a "hanging chad." That and some surface build-up on back is what mainly prevents it from a NM grade.  But make no mistake -- while not being a perfect copy, it's very nice and still high-grade. 209 VF/NM   Amazing Spider-Man 209 1980, Spectacular 251-253 1997 VF/NM Kraven, 1st Calypso 218 NM- 9.50 07/81 - by Denny O'Neil/John Romita Jr - Hydo-Man (2nd appearance continued from previous issue) and Sandman have merged into...whatever that is on the cover - "Eye Of The Beholder!" A fantastic copy that's flat, shiny and very smooth with only a handful of razor-thin spine ticks and near-white pages still even after 40 years.  Still looks almost new and seems only to have been very lightly paged through before.  Back cover near upper staple (see photos) shows just enough handling wear for me to drop this one below NM.  But even while not perfectly pristine, it's still in fabulous shape. 227 VF- 12.25 04/82 - NEWSSTAND VARIANT - by Roger Stern/John Romita Jr/Jim Mooney, early Black Cat appearance - "Goin' Straight!" A quite nice copy that shows signs of having been read before.  Flat, still shiny and mostly smooth, it has a couple of blunted corners, a not-perfect upper edge, some spine ticks, some light rear surface build-up with pages that still seem near-white.  Certainly no longer high-grade, but definitely in the upper mid-grade realm. 231 NM- 9.95 08/82 - NEWSSTAND VARIANT - by Roger Stern/John Romita Jr, vs Cobra - "Caught In The Act" Wonderfully shiny and smooth newsstand edition that shows almost no wear at all.  Even still has near-white pages after four decades.  Some trace of slight handling was the only reason I didn't land at full NM.  A great copy. 235 FN 8.75 12/82 - NEWSSTAND VARIANT (Mark Jewelers insert ) - by Roger Stern/Frank Giacoia/John Romita Jr, Origin of Will o' the Wisp, Tarantula app - "Look Out, There's A Monster Coming!" An average copy with some edge and light spine wear.  Corners slightly blunted and some surface build-up is noticeable on the back.  But it lies mostly flat, still has some shine and isn't really wrinkled at all.  Certainly not high-grade, but it's a solid mid-grade copy. 241 NM- 9.95 06/83 - by Roger Stern/Frank Giacoia/John Romita Jr, Origin of Vulture - "In The Beginning" What a fabulous copy -- flat, shiny and stunningly smooth with no folds or creases and off-white pages with only a handful of hairline spine ticks that ever suggest this book has ever been read before.  It may not be perfectly pristine, but dang , it's a wonderful copy nonetheless.  Plenty of photos, so look for yourself! 255 NM- 8.50 08/84 - by Tom DeFalco/Rick Leonardi, vs Red Ghost, 1st app Black Fox - "Even A Ghost Can Fear The Night!" Just a hint of wear on spine to indicate that the book might have been opened or paged through before, leaving a couple of ticks that are visible from the rear side.  But mostly looks new and is flat, smooth and shiny with off-white pages, a couple of which show some signs of stray ink from the printing process but are still in great shape. 259 VF/NM 9.95 12/84 - by Tom DeFalco/Ron Frenz, Hobgoblin app, Rose app, Origin of Mary Jane Watson ; Spider-Man back to old costume - "All My Pasts Remembered!" A great copy that's flat, shiny and smooth with off-white pages.  Close to NM, but has a couple of very faint stress lines on spine and a touch of surface build-up on back to knock it down a bit.  Plenty of pictures though of a still high-grade, even if not perfect copy. 266 NM 7.95 07/85 - UNOPENED - by Peter David/Sal Buscema, Black Cat app, Frog-Man vs the Toad! - "Jump For My Love or Spring Is In The Air" Frog-Man set to appear in Disney+ She-Hulk series, so grab this early appearance! Book is in that 9.2 to 9.4 range - if not perfect, pretty darn close. 269 NM 9.50 10/85 - UNOPENED - by Tom DeFalco/Ron Frenz, Spidey vs Firelord! - "Burn, Spider, Burn!" Stunning 35+ year-old copy that looks like it might have just been published.  Flat, shiny and smooth, with tight spine, sharp corners and white pages.  Really top-notch -- perhaps even NM+! High-grade collectors, please note! Plenty of photos, so take a good look. 279 NM- -- 08/86 - by Tom DeFalco/Rick Leonardi, 2nd appearance Silver Sable , Jack O'Lantern vs Silver Sable - "Savage Is The Sable!" This copy could easily be mistaken for a brand new copy.  If you put it up next to other new ones on the comic store shelf, you'd never suspect it was 35 years old (well okay, the cover price would give it away). Flat, shiny and smooth with no cover wrinkles, sharp corners, tight spine, and barely a tick to be found, even against that all-black edge (hairline only and still satisfies full NM status).  Pages off-white to white -- if this copy was ever read before, it's impossible to tell -- the pages all looked great when I carefully leafed through the book.  No smudges found when I held the book up to the light. Only the second appearance of Silver Sable, so this high-grade copy will be well sought after.  If you just need to fill a gap in your run, you can find a cheaper one, but if you're looking for a top-notch specimen, this should work for you.  A CGC candidate, I'd say, but I've provided loads of pictures, so take a look for yourself! 285 NM 7.50 02/87 - UNOPENED - by Tom DeFalco, James Owsley/Alan Kupperberg, Punisher app, Hobgoblin app, Hammerhead app - "Gang War, Part 2; The Arranger Must Die" Good grief, this one looks like it might have just been published last week.  You could slip this one on a comic store rack, and it might even look better than some of the other brand new ones.  Might even be NM+.  Pages still near-white.  I tooks lots of photos, so what more can I say that they don't already show? Another case where you can absolutely find a cheaper gap-filler copy, if that's all you're after, but if you want a nearly-pristine one, this will certainly work for you! 286 NM- 7.50 03/87 - by James Owsley/Alan Kupperberg, Hobgoblin app, Rose app, Jack O'Lantern app - "Gang War, Part 3; Thy Father's Son!" Seems to be near-perfect with flat, shiny and smooth surface, sharp corners, tight spine with the faintest hint of a single hairline tick, clean back with just one light foxing spec in the upper-left corner that's just visible in the two back photos, and pages still near-white.  Hard to tell if it was ever read before. If you just need a reading copy, you can find one chapear, but if you want a really nice one, this just-missed-full-NM copy might fit the bill! Plenty of photos, so take a look! 299 VF/NM   Amazing Spider-Man 299 VF/NM 9.0 1988 White Pages Todd McFarlane 1st Venom Cameo 318 NM- 9.75 08/89 - UNOPENED - Todd McFarlane art , vs Scorpion - "Sting Your Partner!" Good grief, this book looks fantastic with a flat, shiny and unbelievably smooth surface and pages that are still near-white, you'd swear it could pass as a brand new book today.  It's almost unfair that I dropped it to NM- only due to some stray blue ink from the original printing process at the top of the back cover -- some would allow that for a NM copy, and they'd probably have a point, but I'm dropping it anyway -- still a splendid copy that I've provided tons of pictures of, so take a look! 319 NM 9.75 09/89 - Todd McFarlane art , vs Scorpion, Rhino and Blacklash app - "The Scorpions Tale Of Woe!" Excellent copy that's flat, clean, shiny and smooth with near-white pages.  Some spine ticks that are very faint but just visible if you zoom in and easily unnoticed -- I found them with a magnifying glass.  Possibly paged through before, but if so, it was done so gently as to have left next to no trace at all. This one could get slipped onto the comic store rack today and essentially be indistinguishable from a brand new comic.  Plenty of photos, so check it out! 322 NM- 5.95 10/89 - NEWSSTAND VARIANT - Todd McFarlane art , Silver Sable app, Sabretooth app, vs Ultimatum - "Assassin Nation Plot, Part 3; Ceremony" Flat and shiny with almost white pages, I'm going to say this one might have been read before, as that back upper spine corner has slight stress (you'll have to zoom way in on the one photo to see it -- I noticed it when I held the book up to the light while looking for smudges). Seems to have been gently held in the middle, and has a couple of hair-thin spine ticks too, but make no mistake, despite not being NM anymore, this is a wonderfully-preserved newsstand edition -- harder to find than its direct edition counterpart -- whoever bought this one at their local 7-Eleven took good care of it! Plenty of photos, so check it out! 328 NM- 14.95 01/90 - NEWSSTAND VARIANT - Todd McFarlane art , Cosmic Spidey vs the Hulk! , Black King app; Acts of Vengeance; Last McFarlane Issue - "Acts of Vengeance; Shaw's Gambit" Close to perfect, but not quite there with some light ticks on spine and the tiniest little dimple at the upper edge of the lower staple -- these were enough to prevent a full NM rating, but otherwise a flat, clean, shiny and literally smooth as glass copy with off-white pages. If there's a better-looking newsstand copy out there, then by all means, buy it -- otherwise, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better one than this! Tons of photos, so take a close look.  A gorgeous copy, even if not absolutely pristine. 340 NM- 3.50 10/90 - UNOPENED - Erik Larsen art, 1st app Femme Fatales - "The Hero Subtracter" Looks brand new, but I note that the very tip of the back's top-left corner flaked off, so I marked it down a bit, but believe me, this is a great copy! 345 NM 14.50 03/91 - UNOPENED - Mark Bagley art, Venom app, Cardiac app, Boomerang app, Silver Sable app, Carnage Symbiote infects Cletus Kasady , vs Boomerang - "Gun from the Heart" Good grief, this one looks like it might have just been published this week as opposed to 30 years ago! Fabulous copy that might well be NM+ to boot! Lots of pictures, so check it out! 349 VF/NM 2.50 07/91 - Erik Larsen art, Dr. Doom app, Black Fox app - "Man of Steal" Looks slightly handled, perhaps lightly read, but still in great shape. 366 VF/NM 2.50 09/92 - Jerry Bingham art, Taskmaster and Red Skull app - "Skullwork!" Some light spine wear from a prior reading appears to have knocked this one below NM. 368 NM 2.50 11a/92 - UNOPENED - by David Michelinie, J.M. DeMatteis/Mark Bagley, Aaron Lopresti, Invasion of the Spider-Slayers, part 1 of 6 371 NM 2.50 12b/92 - UNOPENED - by David Michelinie, Al Milgrom/Mark Bagley, Aaron Lopresti, Black Cat app, vs Spider-Slayers - "Invasion of the Spider-Slayers, Part 4 of 6 372 VF 2.95 01a/93 - UNOPENED - by David Michelinie, Al Milgrom/Mark Bagley, Black Cat app - Invasion of the Spider-Slayers, part 5 of 6 Book looks like it was purchased and perhaps paged through once, showing faint signs of handling before storing it away for the decades ahead. 377 FN 1.50 05/93 - UNOPENED - by Steven Grant, David Michelinie/Jeff Johnson, vs Cardiac and Styx & Stone - "Dust to Dust" Looks brand new (literally) but spine is so flat that a split formed at the very bottom (see photo), so I had to reduce by a couple of grades.  But looks fabulous and essentially brand new otherwise. 386 VF 1.95 02/94 - UNOPENED - Mark Bagley art, vs Vulture - "Lifetheft, Part 1, The Wings Of Age" Looks brand new when you first pick it up, and only when you hold it up to the light do you see faint lines that aren't color-breaking but disrupt the otherwise almost completely smooth surface.  No choice but to demote this one. 387 VF 1.95 03/94 - UNOPENED - Mark Bagley art, vs Vulture - "Lifetheft, Part 2; The Thief of Years" Looks brand new until you hold it up close and see a faint stress line in lower-left (too faint to show in photos), but no longer NM. 388 NM- 2.25 04/94 - UNOPENED (Double-Size blue foil cover, $2.95 cover) - by J.M. DeMatteis, David Michelinie/Mark Bagley, Death of Peter Parker's (false) parents; vs Chameleon; vs Vulture - "Lifetheft, Part 3; The Sadness of Truth" A couple of spine ticks prevent full NM; has a tiny little ding in lower-right of back. GS5 FN+ 7.50 07/75 - by Gerry Conway/Ross Andru (published between regular issues 146 and 147), Part of the original Spider-Clone saga , Gwen Stacy clone app, Man-Thing app, Lizard app, Beetle app - "Beware the Path of the Monster!" Also includes reprint of ASM 21, featuring the Human Torch and the Beetle - "Where Flies the Beetle...!" A previously-read but still solid mid-grade copy with moderate wear and light wrinkling and some light surface build-up on back.  Still shiny and mostly flat with off-white pages.  I paged through the book, and all looks fine.  Plenty of photos, so take a look.  It's a solid, if not spectacular copy that can certainly withstand another reading or two, and one that people often overlook when they're trying to fill in the entire Spider-Clone saga. Annl_7 FN/VF 18.00 1970 - by Stan Lee/Steve Ditko/John Romita, Cover reads King-Size Special, Chameleon, Vuture appearances -- reprints ASM 1, 2 and 38.  Great way to more affordably virtually fill-in those expensive gaps in your ASM run. A nice, previously-read and handled copy, but still remains in solid shape (but no longer "high-grade").  I paged through the entire book, and all the pages look good. Annl_11 GD+ 2.50 1977 - by Archie Goodwin, Bill Mantlo, Scott Edelman/Don Perlin, Gil Kane, John Romita Jr, 1st app of Spider-Squad - "Spawn of the Spider; Chaos at the Coffee Bean" Obviously well-read, lower-grade copy that someone doodled over part of the title, and has a good amount of surface build-up, but otherwise complete.  Good filler copy. Annl_13 VF 9.50 1979 - by Marv Wolfman/John Byrne, Ed Hannigan, Jim Mooney, Keith Pollard, Tony DeZuniga, vs Doctor Octopus - "The Arms of Doctor Octopus; Peter Parker's Pad!" Book seems to have been lightly read before, leaving a trace of wear, mostly along spine where you would hold it open.  Pages still near white. Annl_14 VF 9.95 1980 - by Denny O'Neil/Frank Miller , Dr. Strange app, vs Doctor Doom; vs Dormammu - "Bend Sinister" Book seems to have been lightly read before with signs of having been held open at the spine but still in good shape with near-white pages.  Plenty of shine.  Some light cover wrinkling but not bad for a book over 40 years old. Annl_17 FN- 2.75 1983 - NEWSSTAND VARIANT - by Roger Stern/Bill Mantlo/Ed Hannigan, Kingpin app - "Heroes and Villains" Clearly been read before, and lower-part of back cover has scuff marks, but still shiny with off-white pages Annl_18 FN/VF 2.75 1984 - by Tom DeFalco/Stan Lee/Ron Frenz, Wedding of J. Jonah Jameson; - "The Scorpion Takes a Bride!" A still shiny copy with near-white pages, but has obviously been read and handled before, leaving some wrinkles and light stress marks. Annl_19 VF 7.50 1985 - by Louise Simonson/Mary Wilshire, the Amazing Mary Jane? -- 1st app of Alistair Smythe Spider-Slayer - "Fun 'N' Games" Looks like it was lightly read before, leaving little tell-tale minor cover wrinkles behind.  Pages still near white. Annl_27 NM 1.95 1993 - by Jack C. Harris, Eric Fein, Mike Lackey/Tom Lyle, Scott Kolins, Aaron Lopresti, Larry Alexander, 1st app Annex (Alexander Ellis) ; Includes trading card - "Prepare Yourself forAnnex; Dead Reckoning; The Lizard Must Be Destroyed; Estrangements and Reunions" No longer sealed, but card is still included, may only have been flipped through because it looks essentially new. CloneJrnl VF/NM 1.95 03/95 - Spider-Man:  The Clone Journal - One-Shot ($2.95 cover price) Looks brand new from the front, and only the small bit of specking you see on that back cover prevents a full NM grade (those likely due to being slid in and out of a stack of copies by potential buyers before finally being purchased).  Inner pages are still white, and the book otherwise looks close to brand new.
