Seller: farm2art-tiques (70) 100%, Location: Tucson, Arizona, Ships to: US, Item: 183508625957 A wonderfully OLD and rare Rotary Hoe Wheel with a great rusty patina. Found near Amarillo, Texas 10 Tine, solid cast iron 15# in weight 16" from tine tip to tine tip 2 3/4" thick through the hub, hub dia. = 1 7/8", center hole dia. =1 1/16" The wheel is marked with a "1H" -- it IS a "1" and not an "I" which might have indicated that it was manufactured by "International Harvester". It also has the number "24" cast into the base of one Tine ( which might be the year of manufacture -- or ?? ). Yet another tine has two ".." ( dots ) cast into it. There are no other markings on it. The implement that it was removed from had no identification on it. Does not come with stand. The wheel has been cleaned and lightly oiled with a easily removed biodegradable oil which was used to bring out it's naturally obtained patina. There are some minor casting imperfections which are normal in castings of this age. It IS solid cast iron. It has been "Ring Tested" and passed ( Ring Testing means that it was suspendered by one tine and "tapped" with a metal hammer making it "ring" which indicates it is not cracked anywhere in it's body -- IF it went "thud" it would indicate a cracked body THE PICTURES SHOWN ARE A REPRESENTATION OF WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE -- THE ACTUAL WHEEL MAY DIFFER SLIGHTLY -- IF at the time you purchase you wish to see the actual wheel I will send pictures for your approval. ). IF you would prefer an "as found, not cleaned version" of this wheel I will provide it upon request after payment is made. Just notify me at the time you make your payment. In the three years that I have been collecting Rotary Hoe Wheels I have not seen any offered for sale "anywhere". It IS unique in that respect. The day I dissembled the hoe on the farm near Amarillo, Texas it was in the middle of a huge downpour and thunder & lightning storm. IF there had been a place to hide we would have :--)) We got soaked and scared but came away with examples of this wonderful old wheel. As a new "collector" I would love to know the name of the manufacturer-- please share it with me if you know it. Payment required within 3 days of the close of auction. Payment by PayPal only. US shipments only !!! PLEASE contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for looking! Condition: Used -- rusted bare cast iron with some pitting due to tines protruding into the ground while stored, Maker: Unknown, Material: Cast Iron
