Bronze AS of the period of the Punic Wars, 211 BC or a little later. As you see, this is quite worn on the obverse, though you can see the Janus head. The reverse shows the prow of a warship. Below you can make out the letters MA (of "Roma"). Above are a few letters which look to me like BLAC. A couple small spots of mineral deposit. This is the main bronze coin issued by the Republic, which actually did very little bronze. The familiar as/dupondius/sestertius system starts with Augustus. The patina is smooth. I list this as "uncleaned" because I didn't clean it. I suspect that virtually any ancient coin has been at least brushed by somebody when it came out of the ground, so for ancients the distinction is almost meaningless. Always happy to combine shipping on multiple wins. Foreign buyers should note that the postage prices are a guess. This coin is too heavy to mail between thin cardboad in a letter envelope. I will have to mail it between thicker cardboard as a first class "parcel." If the postage charge is too high I will refund the difference. Condition: Looks a little better in hand. The Janus-head is a bit more visible than in the scan, particularly the right face. It is admittedly quite worn. The reverse is better., Cleaned/Uncleaned: Uncleaned, Date: circa 211 BC, Composition: Bronze, Denomination: As
