A rare, hard to find pair of original, antique cast iron sconce lanterns from the early 1900s with caramel glass. A similar pair of sconces is listed for $2,400 on another site. The lights are fully restored with new period correct and UL listed cloth-covered wire, heavy turned brass sockets, a dead black finish with a satin wax top coat that was hand rubbed. Even the lamp pipes are new.  While you can find one-offs offs of this type of arts and crafts lantern, a matching pair is uncommon.  The cast iron has wear associated with and expected for its age, some minor pitting. No breaks or cracks. One glass holder is a replacement; the original was so rusted in place it broke while trying to remove it. The replacement part holds the glass tight. Each lantern weighs 7 pounds 7 ounces. Each lantern box is about 4 inches square and 7 inches high.  Total height: about 9.5 inches Extension from wall: 7.5 inches Back plates: approximately 4.5 x  9 inches As with all antique lighting, these lanterns should be inspected and installed by an electrician.
