Item:163803536344Pre Columbian, Mixtec stone necklace pendant, 10 grams, 1 inch wide, 15/16 inches tall, 5/16 inches in depth. Expected weathering light deposits, small chip to the middle of the right side of piece and middle bottom. Suspension hole in perfect condition. All posted photos are of the subject artifact unless noted, and were taken by the seller utilizing a Canon Digital Camera, and an AmScope 3.5x - 180x Trinocular Stereo Microscope with the appropriate Barlow lenses, a mounted 3 MP digital camera and LED lighting. Photos 1 thru 7 were shot with the Canon camera, images depict subject artifact. Photos 8 thru 12 were shot with the AmScope, images depict lack of modern tool marks (photo 8), deposits in the suspension hole (photos 9 thru 11), and an image of modern tool marks in a suspension hole of a fake Pre Columbian bead, (photo 12). I studied every square mm of this piece with my microscope, there are no modern tool marks on it. USPS/Canada Post Tracked Service from my collection, there is no chance this piece is a fake. All artifacts are packed with the greatest care using the best materials money can buy. I recently was reviewing the artifacts a well known, reputable art gallery had for sale, they have/had a Mixtec necklace pendant mounted on a ring, (the suspension hole was broken), their asking price was just under 2000 American dollars, not including associated gallery fees, taxes and shipping. The mounted Mixtec pendant is very similar to my artifact. The name of the gallery on request.Material:stone, Provenance:from my collection
