Very common are creatures of fantasy and strange composite beings. Their preoccupation with super natural forms that Diquis pendants represent may have served as indicators of rank and family status, or perhaps as amulets. The pendants should not be considered merely as ornamental jewelry. Traditionally these type artifacts had between 3 - 7% gold content. 83 grams, 2 3/4 inches in height, 2 1/2 inches in width, 1 inch in depth, solid rear, no missing pieces, breaks or cracks, overall the subject Tumbaga is in choice condition. All photos were taken by the seller utilizing a Canon digital camera and a laboratory quality AmScope, trinocular stereo microscope, (more information and a photo located with my store ads). All photos are of the subject artifact, there are never any substitutions. Photos 1 thru 7 were shot with the Canon the images reflect the subject tumbaga at different angles. Photos 8 thru 12 were shot with the AmScope, they reflect magnified and highly magnified images showing the detail, deposits, and the gold and copper in the pendant.
