Seller: gpolkajr1881 (2,859) 100%, Location: Vero Beach, Florida, Ships to: US & many other countries, Item: 133132890247 These two early 1700 Chinese porcelain tea bowl and Chinese pottery shard are from the late Sir Robert F. Marx's personal collection. The rare Chinese specimens were recovered from a 1964 – 1968 underwater/land excavation directed by Marx, a world-renowned underwater archaeologist. The Chinese pottery shard was from a land-dig, while the complete Chinese Emperor's reign 1662 – 1722 tea bowl was one of four discovered intact within a mud-encased what was once a wooden container from a sunken Port Royal, Jamaica building that sank as a result of the 1692 earthquake that destroyed 1/3rd of what was once the most richest/wicked city in the world. The complete tea bowl's journey from the Far East to Panama by galleon and then across the isthmus to Nombre De Dios and again by galleon to Jamaica is a true historical feat. Port Royal was for a turbulent period home to pirates, privateers and Sir Henry Morgan who became Lt. Governor of Jamaica. The seller had a crew in Port Royal in 2011 – 2015 and still remains in touch. His mentor/good friend was Bob Marx true American legend/my hero. Included is a C.O.A.. Please ask all questions prior to bidding and if in doubt do not bid. Add $8.00 for domestic Priority mailing and will ship international at going rate. Seller leaves feedback AFTER buyer. Thank you for historical preservation interest!!
