It dates from 400-300 BC. It has exceptional colors and form. The sequence of colors--red, black and yellow go down the entire piece. For Reference please see Glass and Glassmaking in Ancient Mesopotamia by the Corning Museum Press figure 9 The pictures show the amphoriskos in front of an open window so you can clearly see its ancient beauty. This amphoriskos was found buried in sand. As you can see no attempt has been made to clean the piece from its sand residue. It is 100% intact and is 5 3/4" tall. The handles are about 2" long and reach from the rim to the start of the body of the amphoriskos. The foot is rounded, as can be seen, and has a single yellow line circle on the very bottom which connects all yellow lines throughout the piece. The rim is 1" in diameter. It comes with a very detailed COA from Aesthetic Engineering Antiques Decatur, GA from the Dr. Weaver Collection in Atlanta, GA via D-S Antiques And Fine Arts.
