Ornate Antique Filigree Sewing Chatelaine

This ornate chatelaine is a golden colored metal with traces of silver plating and dates to the late 19th century. The pierced fans on the waist plaque have applied Roman coin designs. The matching filigree link chains have spring clips at the ends. The repouseé tools have both floral and sea shell motifs and include a thimble bucket with thimble , a scissors sheath with steel scissors, a disc style pin cushion in the form of a book, an aide memoir (notebook), a tape measure and a needle case . 

The thimble is nickel silver with a steel top and has the trademark of the Charles Iles Co.  It is in nice condition with no holes and is about an American size 9 (15.9 mm diameter opening). The steel scissors are 3 1/4" long. They have tight blades, sharp points and cut well. The aide memoir has 3 ivory colored "pages". The tape needs a replacement silk ribbon tape, but is in good working condition. The condition of the chatelaine & all of the attachments is excellent with no dents or other damage. The chatelaine measures almost 13 1/2" long from top to bottom and has a strong hinged clip on the back.  The postage shown includes Registered shipping for non US addresses and insured shipping within the US.
