Daniel Paterson, published in 1796 by Carrington Bowles in ‘Paterson’s BRITISH ITINERARY being a new and accurate Delineation and Description of the Direct and Principal Cross Roads of Great Britain’. The map depicts part of the road through part of Scotland. Specifically, the road passes through Linton Edinburgh and Leith as well as numerous villages and settlements (see photographs). The map itself measures approximately 87mm x 164mm (152mm x 229mm including the mount) and is uncoloured as published.
