For Jean Marie, it was essential to give the company a new ship to proudly wear its flag while ensuring that it carried the number of passengers that previously required two to three ships to carry. This is the birth of the liner SS France which was launched in 1960 in front of General Charles De Gaulle , and then put into service in 1962
