This is a brand new black & white folded map highly detailed taken from the OS 1:2,500 (or 25 inch) maps and reduced to about 15 inches to the mile. Each covers an area of a mile and a half by a mile. They show streets with individual houses, tram tracks, railway tracks and even signals, factories, wharves and such details as fountains and water troughs. On the reverse is an historic introduction together with directory extracts. A must for the historian, genealogist and anyone interested in local history of North Hammersmith & Bedford Park between the 1891 and 1901 census period. Description from publisher Four versions of this map have been published 1869, 1893, 1912 and 1935 showing how the area developed across the years. The maps all cover the same area, with coverage extending from Acton Lane and Beaconsfield Road eastward to Devonport Road and Tabor Road, and from the Uxbridge Road southward to Hamlet Gardens and the District Line. Features include L & S W R Railway Line Kensington & Richmond, North & South Western Junction Railway Hammersmith Branch, Starch Green, Acton Vale, Oldfield House, Stamford Brook, Acton Green, Turnham Green station, Ravenscourt Park, Paddenswick Green, Priory Nursery, Bradmore Works, London General Omnibus Companys Depot, By the time of the 1893 map Starch Green has extended south to join Hammersmith, and part of the map is shown as western Shepherds Bush.
