Item:202683552689Beautiful large oil on canvas. I believe this is Countess Palatine Eleonor Magdalane of Neuburg, Holy Roman Empress. Eleonore Magdalene of Neuburg (1655 – 1720) Holy Roman Empress, German Queen, Archduchess consort of Austria, Queen consort of Hungary and Bohemia. She was the third and last wife of Leopold I. Large portrait painting attributed to Benjamin Block (1631-1690). Benjamin Block was a German - Hungarian Baroque painter who was knighted by Leopold I and painted many court subjects. His works have sold at many of the finest auction houses. Large portrait measures 37 1/2" wide x 45" tall. Frames are 43 1/2" wide x 51 3/4" tall. Subject and style are circa 1600s, although this may have been painted later in the style of Block. Definitely antique and 1800s or earlier. Buyers to make their own judgement. Provenance: From a high end collector of arms and armor. I purchased this with a matching portrait of her husband, Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor, King of Hungary, Croatia and Bohemia.
