Seller: marvinsmom9 (1,717) 99.3%, Location: Hampden, Massachusetts, Ships to: US, Item: 143335055255 VERY UNUSUAL WWII Theatre-Made Short Fighting Knife, Hand Made From US M1 Garand Bayonet DESCRIPTION: Scans show all the details.....unusual WWII theatre-made short fighting knife, hand made by GI from US M1 Garand bayonet. Knife is standard 11" long overall, with a 6 1/4" blade. Blade is very clean and you can see how it was ground down and filed to its present look. Blade was thinned down in both directions, and of course shortened as shown. You can also see the shortening as the original length of the blood gutter is interrupted. Original full size bayonet black plastic handle is in very good, and still has release, which works smoothly. No markings remain on the throat of the blade as they were ground away when the blade was thinned. This is a particularly cool, scarce short fighting knife and has a great look!!! Really nice being made out of a cut down M1 GARAND for use, as an addition to your collection, to display with an M1 rifle or knife collection, or for WWII re-enacting. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!!! SHIPPING TERMS: Buyer pays $11.00 postage. Insurance is at buyer's option. Condition: Used, Condition: very good condition, Country/Region of Manufacture: United States, Featured Refinements: M1 Garand Fighting Knife
