A beautiful wheel-thrown pouring vessel with a flared footed base, a piriform body, a rounded shoulder with a tongue-shaped motif, a tubular neck with a semicircular pouring spout, and a petite strap handle joining neck to shoulder. Areas of the foot, body, handle, and spout are embellished with both thick and thin stripes in a red-orange slip, imbuing the vessel with an elegant bichrome presentation. A fine example from when Mycenae was at its peak of influence, trading throughout the Mediterranean. A vessel like this one may have been used to hold small amounts of oil, perhaps for a table or for personal use. Size: 2.5" W x 4" H (6.4 cm x 10.2 cm).
