Seller: howardturner (804) 100%, Location: Ridgefield, Connecticut, Ships to: US, Item: 254339705941 This exquisite Middle Bronze Age red slipped Canaanite terracotta serving bowl is dated 1740-1550 BC. The bowl is 3" tall and 6'" in diameter. It sits on a foot that is 2" in diameter and flares outward to its 6" rim. The bottom 2/3rds of the bowl has no decoration. The top 1/3rd starts with a deeply incised wide line followed by two smaller incised lines with the last one near the rim. The bowl is heavy clay which has been weather hardened with red slip before firing.. After firing all Canaanite pottery was lightly burnished.with pebbles.to give it some shine. It is 100% intact with one very small chip on its rim. It has remains from its burial.which can be washed off very easily (not recommended) Purchased ffrom Time Heritage in Jordan in 2003 and has a COA from them.
