Seller: shafafa (47) 100%, Location: Pikesville, Maryland, Ships to: Free Local Pickup, Item: 303247140340 Museum Quality Curly Maple Dressing "Toilet" Mirror, Circa 1770 Primary surfaces richly dressed in curly maple veneer. Original plate / mirror in turned balluster uprights, all standing on bun feet. Single dovetailed drawer with two original wood pulls. Measures: H21” W20” D8 7/8” I bought this piece in 1980 and had been told at the time it was previous owned by Monroe R. Pfoutz (1914-1997) of Union Mill, Maryland. When researching, his family’s roots, they appear to go deep in this region and also Pennsylvania. The style of this dressing mirror is very reminiscent of the pieces being made in Lancaster County Pennsylvania during the 1700’s. Photos # 11 & 12 are closeups of a portion of the top surface when shot from the front side and back of the mirror. This is a high quality heirloom piece beautifully crafted with very fine lines and well thought proportions by it’s master creator. Carefully look at photos to gauge condition. I strive to provide detailed and accurate descriptions and clear helpful photos. If you have any questions about this item or would like more information, please feel free to contact me via email before bidding. I will answer honestly & accurately.
