This is truly a classic example of mid-century modern designed by the famous Dorothy Thorpe. “She is best known for her timeless and modern, wide-band sterling overlay glass pieces.” These highball glasses are timeless and modern but were produced in the 1950’s and 60’s. But these are called the Silver Band which do not have the sterling overlay. If you are not familiar with Dorothy Thorpe designed glasses she had two different styles one called Allegro with the sterling band and is a brighter silver and then the Silver Band which I have listed. Anything that has a fade design is not Dorothy Thorpe even though you will see many listed as such. Most likely those glasses are Queen Lusterware or another manufacturer. This is a listing for six highball glasses in the Silver Band pattern. I would like to say these are in excellent condition but to be safe I will say in very, very good condition! There are no chips, nicks or scratches. I really do not even see much wear. They stand about 5.75 inches and are about 2.75 inches in diameter. I have other pieces listed (or will be listing) so please be sure to check out my shop ‘not2shabbyshop’ for more Dorothy Thorpe and other great vintage items!
