We are pleased to offer for your consideration absolutely gorgeous TRUE ANTIQUE JAPANESE  家紋 FIVE KAMON~CREST ITSUTSUMON   THE MOST FORMAL 黒留袖 IRO-TOMESODE YUZEN ~ DYED CRANES  RED SILK CREPE KIMONO  From the late MEIJI ERA (1866 - 1912) Irotomesode  色留袖 ~  Can only be worn by unmarried women. The pattern is the same as kurotomesode , but they are not black (iro  色, “color”).  Completely Hand Made & Hand Sewn in vibrant Red YUZEN-Dyed Silk Crepe with Hand Painted fabulous Flying CRANES design just below the waist on the front panels toward the hem and continues on the internal lower portion, toward the sides - just gorgeous! It is partially (about two-thirds)  lined in a delicate solid Red silk which is completely stitched to the lower portion.   This type of kimono is called "susohiki" , meaning 'trail the skirt' , as it is made with extra length and slightly weighted hem, to be worn with the skirt trailing along the floor behind the wearer. This Iro Tomesode is decorated with Five Kamon in total: one at the center in the back, one the back of each sleeve and one on each side of chest, called ITSUTSUMON (the family crest on five places) ~and is the peak of formality. Each Kamon  shaped as the Leaf Crest  (the crest of the ruling family) named: Shokubutsu mon  (plant crests). Kamon works as a sign indicates the formality of the kimono, it shows the social status or class of a wearer or an occasion, by the number of Kamon, the way it is decorated and its shape.  ~This kimono is completely hand stitched. ~The Red  color is extremely vibrant,  does have some toning and shades depends of different angles of view, with more intensive and less intensive areas, please, see photos. Appears to be originally intended, but may also be some age soiling. We believe that according to the style and quality of the silk and painting - this kimono is dated most likely back to the late Meiji era, 1880 - 1910s. Measurements approximately: 60" long, center back collar seam to bottom 50" - distance between sleeve end to sleeve end 29" - length of sleeves 12 1/2" - width of sleeves 22" (half) - chest across Please, note: this is not a newer reproduction what we can see a lot on the market made of synthetic materials with machine made embellishments, but really rare example of a skillful craftsmanship of that time, with absolutely striking details in traditional Japanese formal kimono style. There are probably some camera and sun reflections on the pictures. Please note, different monitors may show some difference in colors or shades. Colors may appear darker/lighter/adjusted vibrancy than real life due to the screen/device type you are viewing this on. Please, take to attention the age and hand-stitched originality. Condition report:  probably expected not major soiling, few tiny dark soiling marks here and there, hardly visible on the photos and noticeable in direct close inspection only,   may be some loss of stitches, some unstitched seams and probably some fragility to some threads.. . We don't see tears, holes or any visible damage.   We did not try to do any changes in this treasure to avoid any occasional damage.
