The May 4, 1778 Virginia notes with printed dates, such as this one, had newly engraved boarder cuts and state insignia compared to the May 4, 1778 hand written date issue. Beneath the bold state insignia is the Latin motto “SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS” (Ever thus to tyrants). This note was printed on very thin paper by A. Purdie or Clarkson & Davis. Only 7 examples of this thin papered $10 note are known to survive today.  Signers: L.
