Microscope
Fan Shade.

This telescopic brass fan, is I believe, a microscope shade and it is in "as found" condition.
They were used to shield the microscopist's eyes from unwanted distracting light sources.
The brass foot folds out as it should and the shaft extends twice.
These stay in place and the joint at the top moves smoothly.
The green silk fan is quite delicate, there are splits to the folds of the silk and it has frayed in places too.
It has its' case, this is impressed with '6' to the top and bottom.
It does have scuffs, marks and loss of colour in paces.
This would be ideal for spares or repair.
